IN FOSTER: Meet every bodies best friend Buddy! Buddy came to us from a more northern community after needing medical attention from being attacked by multiple dogs. He is a super sweet boy but due to his northern roots has decided that cats seem more like snacks than friends so a home without cats or small animals is a must for this sweet boy. He has very little training and will need someone who has a lot of time and patience to teach him how to be the wonderful family dog we know he can be. Buddy is still working on some basic manners and skills in his foster home but is already making a lot of progress. As much as Buddy loves to make friends with other dogs a home with out another indoor dog may be best as he tends to mark when around other dogs. He has only peed in his foster moms house once! So we see that as a success for his first real time experiencing home life. We are still working with him on this little habit and hope that with time we will be able to curb it! Buddy's foster mom had this to say about him so far! He's wonderful to hangout outside with. Nothing really makes him bark, as long as you're visible. He loves to just doze in the shady spots and under the deck. When he is well exercised he is very quiet in the house and chill. Sometimes you can even forget he is there! When he wants something, though, you know it. He is a talker. He's very easy to walk. He isn't a speed walker, but he likes a good walk (about 2.5, 3k provided it's not too too hot) twice a day ish. He's a very good snuggler who likes very much to say hello to all people!! He is an absolute peach! In foster Lexa is quiet and relaxed most days and seems to be okay with her neighbors, even when the one next kennel over likes to howl most of the day. When her neighbor starts to talk about his day Lexa likes to tell him about her day as well, but she is much quieter in doing so. Lexa knows how to sit and shake both her paws. She enjoys playing when someone is with her. Lexa is not a fan of cats so a household with no cats would be beneficial for her. IN FOSER: You may remember the litter of 6 Great Pyrenees pups that were born here at the shelter in January. Sal was one of those pups and since being adopted has unfortunately been returned back into our care and is ready to find his forever home! He is a very big and strong boy so he will need someone with a lot of time and patience to help teach him a few leash manners. He is still very young and we think that Sal would do well cats, dogs and kids that are a little bit older and know to give him his space. He is very smart and would pick up things quite quickly, he already knows sit and shake a paw. He is so playful and loves attention. He enjoys going for runs and will follow you everywhere you go! Sal has made a lot of progress in his foster home but would need someone who is going to continue with his training and keep him busy.
